Good afternoon, in this post we want to show how you can write a scenario (script) for a escape room using our puzzles from the catalog.


Below we have written a scenario with the main theme "Vikings", read and use it.




Ragnar's Legacy escape room script

Legend:

«You are the descendants of the great king Ragnar, whose fame resounded from the fjords to the Mediterranean Sea. Before his death, he divided his legacy into three parts and hid them in three halls. Only those who pass the trials of the warrior, the sage, and the leader will be able to unite the artifacts and ignite the Eternal Flame. You have one hour to complete the task. If you fail, the legacy will be lost forever."


Room 1. "The Warrior's Hall" (a test of strength and valor)


Decor

A massive wooden hall with a stone floor. In the center is a round shield with axes (Viking weapons). Along the walls are chests, chains, on the wall hangs an ancient sword, embedded in the stone. From the ceiling hang pennants with runes. Dim light imitates the flame of torches. You can hear the sound of drums and the sounds of battle.


The sequence of puzzles in room 1:


1. Weapon shield puzzle

On the wall hangs a shield with missing axes. Players can find 2 axes in this room. You need to place the axes in the correct position to open the first secret compartment with a key.


2. Insert the knives puzzle

Three ritual knives with engraved symbols fall out of the secret compartment. There are grooves on the wooden deck nearby. A hint on the wall depicts three battle scenes. You need to insert the knives into the correct grooves corresponding to the scenes. When inserted correctly, a compartment with a metal figure (such as a Valkyrie) opens.

3. Puzzle «Chains»

Heavy chains are hanging on the wall, attached to a chest. Next to each chain, there is a drawing, players must pull the chains in the correct sequence, as a result, the built-in box will open and from it you can extract an ancient compass.


4. Compass and steering wheel

A steering wheel hangs on the wall, and in the hands of players turns the compass from the previous step. The clue: "Sail to the east, where the sun rises." You need to turn the steering wheel so that the compass shows the correct direction (east). This opens the electromagnetic lock, which opens the door to the second room.




Room 2. "The Chamber of the Wise" (a test of intelligence and cunning)


Decor

A library of ancient scrolls. In the center is a stone altar, surrounded by chess pieces. On the walls are maps of unknown lands and runic writings. There is a barrel with a tap in the corner, similar to a beer tap. The light is softer, and mysterious melodies in the Old Norse language are heard.

5. Chess v.2 (with built-in box)

There is a chessboard on the table, but the pieces are arranged in a non—standard way. Players find a scroll with a description of the "Battle of the King", where the figures form a rune in a certain position. It is necessary to arrange the shapes according to the scheme. After the correct arrangement, a box with runic stones opens.


6. Four stones

The box contains four stones with engraved runes. A scale is next to it. A hint: "The weight of knowledge is equal to the weight of water." You need to place the stones on the scale so that they match the weight indicated on the adjacent table. The correct combination opens a box with cubes for the altar.


7. Altar and cubes

Three cubes with symbols on their faces can be placed on the altar. A shadow of the rune to be collected is projected on the wall. Players rotate the cubes so that the top faces form the correct symbol. The altar is activated, and an ancient key in the form of a lever is revealed.


8. Puzzle "Levers"

The lever from the altar is inserted into a panel with three levers. Above them is a diagram showing the correct sequence of levers. Players place the levers in the correct order. This opens the door to the third room.



Room 3. "The Chief's Hall" (a test of fate and leadership)


Decor

A throne room with a massive stone throne in the center, behind which hangs a huge mirror. On the floor is a labyrinth made of stones. In the corner is a chest with a snake on it. Torches are lit, and the walls are decorated with scenes from the Elder Edda.


The sequence of riddles in room 3:


9. Maze on a spring

On the floor in front of the throne - a mechanical maze on a spring with a ball. Players must lead the ball from start to finish. When the ball reaches the goal, opens a compartment in the throne with a set of figures.

10. Box "Set figures"

In the throne is built a wooden box with a set of small figures (drakkar, axe, helmet, etc.). The hint on the back of the throne: "Collect a fleet of three ships." You need to place the figures inside the box in the correct combination. The box opens, revealing a special snake-shaped key.


11. Box with snakes

The key fits the lock of the chest, which is decorated with snakes. When the chest is opened, sound and light effects are activated, and players must collect the map pieces among the snakes.


12. Map puzzle (mechanical puzzle)

Players assemble the map like a puzzle. On the collected map, the location of the final artifact is marked, and a digital code appears (for example, coordinates: 4-8-15-16). This code will be needed for the next puzzle.


13. Panel with holes

A panel with holes hangs on the wall. The clue from the map indicates which holes to drive the ball into sequentially (or in what order to press the numbers). As a result of the correct sequence, a niche (box) with "firewood" for the fire is opened.



14. Puzzle "Bonfire"

The wood must be inserted into a special bonfire. But the fire does not light up until the last puzzle is solved, but a built-in box will open, inside the box there are three elements for the next riddle. Above the bonfire there is a runic inscription: "The flame of the leader is lit by the truth".


15. Magic mirror

When players approach the mirror, they see a reflection of a campfire, but if they insert the missing pieces into the top of the mirror, a secret inscription with runes will appear. These runes are a code and a clue to the final puzzle.


16. Blind character

A painting in a wooden frame hangs on the wall, and it features numerous runes. If players cover specific runes with their hands (a clue from puzzle 14), the campfire will activate (puzzle 13).



The final

When the torch lights up, a secret door opens behind the throne, leading to the exit. Players take with them a symbolic "legacy" (for example, a golden horn or a king's crown).

There is victorious music and a voice: "You have proved your valor, wisdom and will. May a new era begin!"
